1) Low number of submissions to April issue of FASN E-News & Notes

We have received very few submissions for the April 2nd edition of FASN E-News & Notes (http://honorsnewark.rutgers.edu/fasn/enews.htm). We are looking for the following information:

GENERAL NEWS -- short news items

UPCOMING EVENTS, LECTURES, CONFERENCES -- submit information on conference leadership activities, such as keynote or other high level presentations PUBLICATIONS AWARDS AND HONORS MAJOR GRANTS RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES NEWSMAKERS -- submit citations in leading mass media publications such as NY Times, Star-Ledger, Washington Post, Newsweek, etc.

Material must be submitted via email to Erica Grant at shelaine@andromeda.rutgers.edu by Thursday, March 29th.

2) Open Forum with Second FASN Dean Candidate on Monday, March 26th

You are cordially invited to attend an Open Forum with Dr. Eric Arnesen, candidate for the Dean of Faculty of Arts and Sciences-Newark. Dr. Arensen is currently the Chair of the Department of History, and Professor in the Departments of History and African-American Studies, at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Please join the Search Committee members in welcoming Dr. Arnesen to our campus.

3) Open Forum with Third FASN Dean Candidate on Thursday, March 29th

You are cordially invited to attend an Open Forum with Dr. Philip Yeagle, candidate for the Dean of Faculty of Arts and Sciences-Newark. Dr. Yeagle is Department Head and Professor, Molecular and Cell Biology, at the University of Connecticut. Please join the Search Committee members in welcoming Dr. Yeagle to our campus.

4) Thursday, March 29 - Third Annual Women's Studies Symposium

The Third Annual Women's Studies Symposium will be held on Thursday, March 29th from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM in the Multi-Purpose Room at Paul Robeson Campus Center. The symposium will feature a keynote address and three panels of graduate student research in women's studies. 5) Saturday, March 31 - 8th Annual Joint Applied and Urban Ethics Conference

The Department of Philosophy, Rutgers-Newark, the New Jersey Medical School, and the Prudential Business Center at Rutgers present the 8th Annual Joint Applied and Urban Ethics Conference on Race, Ethnicity, and Medicine.

6) Monday, March 26 - Last day to Drop Courses or withdraw from college for spring term (a W grade assigned).

7) Fall 2007 Advisement from March 19th to April 6th

Fall 2007 Advisement began on March 19th and will continue through April 6th. The full advising schedule is available on the student affairs web site at: http://www.newark.rutgers.edu/dsanwk/imp_adv_annoucement.html

8) Fall 2007 Registration begins April 2nd

Registration for the Fall 2007 semester will begin on April 2nd. All students are strongly encouraged to meet with an advisor before registering. Students with a cumulative average below 2.0 MUST see an advisor in order to register and will not be able to us WEBREG or Touch Tone Registration.
