these is an extremely worthwhile process that can reward

experiences. Some of the world's most noted scholars,
politicians, authors and artists have benefited from these

Andrew A. Mellon Fellowship in the Humanities:
The
Andrew W. Mellon Fellowships in Humanistic Studies supports
exceptionally promising students who plan to pursue doctoral
programs in the humanities. The Fellowship provides one-year
merit fellowships of $17,500 as well as tuition and fees.

Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship For Excellence:
Barry
M. Goldwater awards students pursuing careers in natural
science, mathematics, and engineering with up to $7,500 for
their remaining undergraduate year(s) of study.

Boren UndergradUATE Scholarship for Study Abroad:
Awards
undergraduate scholarships ranging from $2,500 to $20,000
for summer, semester or year-long study abroad to students
proposing study abroad programs in non-western countries.

Marshall Scholarships:
Marshall Scholarships finance young Americans of high
ability for undergraduate or graduate study in a British
college or university for 2 years in any field of study,
with awards averaging £19,000 per year.

Fulbright U.S. Graduate Student Program:
Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, the Fulbright
U.S. Student Program offers opportunities for recent
graduates, postgraduate candidates, and developing
professionals and artists to conduct career-launching study
and research abroad.
Candidate criteria:

Harry S. Truman Scholarship:
Recognizes college juniors with exceptional leadership
potential and commitment to careers in government, the
nonprofit or advocacy sectors, education or elsewhere in the
public service, providing financial support of a maximum of
$3,000 for the senior year and up to $27,000 for graduate
study, leadership training, and fellowship with other
students committed to making a difference through
public service

Jack Kent Cooke Graduate Scholarship:
Awards scholarships to seniors or recent graduates planning
to attend graduate school. Each award covers a portion of
educational expenses, including tuition, living expenses,
required fees, and books for the graduate degree chosen. The
maximum award is $50,000 p/year for up to 6 years.
Candidate criteria:
- be a college senior or
recent graduate
- have a cumulative GPA
of 3.5 or better
- plan to begin first
graduate degree in fall 2007, and -Be nominated by his
or her undergraduate institution.

Morris K. Udall Scholarship:
Recognizes college sophomores and juniors who have
demonstrated outstanding potential and a commitment to
pursuing careers related to environmental public policy,
awarding approximately 75 scholarships up to a maximum of
$5,000 to cover expense for tuition, fees, books, and room
and board.
Candidate criteria:

contribution to environmental public policy and to

Rhodes Scholarship:
For study towards a master's or second bachelor's degree at
the University of Oxford, including tuition and stipend of
approximately $7,500 per year.
